Abbaye du Voeu (Abbey of the Vow) is an ancient religious building founded in 1145, by Queen Matilda, granddaughter of William the conqueror. Ever since it was raised, the abbey of the vow has had a troubled history. It has reborn from its ashes several times: damaged repeatedly during the hundred years of war. The site has many interesting relics and elevation, with works since 13th century restored. The site has a Chapter hall from the 13th century as well as a recently restored Gable of the nave of the church. Classified as a historical monument, the Abbey of the Vow has been a subject of excavation and restoration; it offers the visitors a tour of the magnificent tomb of the platform priest Guilaume (1280).
