Hotel de Beaumont (The Beaumont hotel) is a luxury hotel of Valognes, one of the finest examples of what could be the Norman Versailles. The construction of the hotel started in 1767 by the architect Raphael Lozon, when Pierre Jallot, Lord of Beaumont, inherited in the early 18th century.The site was extensively looted during the French revolution and later became home detention and then leased to the city to host the recipe of Finance. Surviving the bombing of the liberation of the Cotentin, the Beaumont hotel is one of the last vestiges of the era of the Norman Versailles. This beautiful mansion vitally enchants both young and old with its sweeping staircase to intimate rooms, from richly furnished lounges to wonderfully careful reconstruction.
