Located 190 miles to the south of Cherokee, the Weiss Lake offers many popular outdoor recreational activities near Cherokee in the state of Alabama. This 30,000+ acres of lake is owned and operated by the Alabama Power Company and has almost 450 miles worth of shoreline. Other landscapes like underwater drop offs, shallow flats, large coves, and deep channels can also be found here. Housing a large population of crappie, largemouth bass, and striped bass, this lake is also known for its fishing activities. The best time to fish in this lake is March through May.
