Pennhurst Asylum, Spring City Reviews - Write a Review
We went on a Saturday night at 7. No longer than a 20 minute wait for each of the 4 attractions so I'm glad we didn't pay for the VIP pass. The grounds are very cool and set the mood. The actors are very good. My daughter is 17 and they really know how to prey on the ones that scream and jump. It's very interactive which is why its so good. I would definitely go again although I could do without the Mayflower which is more museum-like than attraction. No scares there.
Even though the attractions seemed a little rushed and the crowds to large to really look around at everything it was really awesome just to visit. It's like it's own little post apocalyptic world and all the old buildings and history was great. I wished we could just sneak into the buildings and explore on our own! There was an amazing artist there that we bought a beautiful painting from. Hope we run into him again to get some more of his work!
This attraction is not scary. I was walking in the very front of the group and did not feel any sense of fear. I am used to haunted attractions where there are a lot of jump scares with people popping out at you wearing scary masks. This attraction had no jump scares and no masks. However, it was still entertaining. The actors were comical, fun to talk to, and played their roles well. The props and costumes all matched the theme of the abandoned asylum very nicely, and I understand why they wouldn't want to deviate away from that theme. It's worth going to at least once, especially if you're looking for something different than an in-your-face, gory haunted attraction.
It was awesome, especially this weekend when they turned out all the lights in the house. VERY creepy. The containment tunnel was even better. The fog and small space was the eeriest feeling I’ve had doing these type of events. Definitely do not do it if you fear small spaces.
I'm not kidding you when I say that I've been to a lot of haunted houses from all over the country. & This is my favorite so far! I can't say anything that will make you understand just how amazing this place is! Go check it out! It is WORTH the money for the VIP passes! Plus you get a tour. I'll always make the drive from MD to come back every year. 🖤
