Baan Kang Wat is a craft village which encompasses a small community of independent businesses and shops. There are ten distinct houses that are centred around an amphitheatre and an outdoor communal area. The main idea behind creating this close knit and unique community was to create a space where businesses get to work together and take part in joint events so as to create a communal neighbourhood. Baan Kang Wat today focuses on modern and traditional handmade sustainable, local and organic products including ceramics, woodcut printing, jewellery, watercolour paintings, bags, clothes, home ware, crafts and so much more. There’s even a little cafe where you can grab a coffee or other delectable items.
