  • A seriously serene spot for exploring, relaxing, appreciating nature and paddling one's feet. Considering there's no entry-fee, the trails have been really well maintained to the extent that old-cronks can roam almost everywhere without falling over. Considering the beauty - it's surprisingly empty and free of hassle from touts and tourists alike. A couple of friendly dogs might perturb you with their boisterous behaviour if you have a fear.

  • Beautiful multi-level falls. Lower levels are suited to people of all ages, easily accessible for young children, and shallow pools for paddling. Climbing further up the tracks gives options for the more adventurous to do some jumping and swimming. Some albeit limited parking at the entrance to,the falls with numerous food vendors around the edge of the car park. Be sure to get a drink before you go up the falls as no options for refreshment once you start the climb.

  • An awesome quick get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The second pool above the waterfall is my favourite spot for a swim and to cool off on a hot day. Infuriating the amount of litter and broken glass around.. I make sure to pick what litter I see up on my visits.. Doi Suthep is understaffed so it really makes a difference if you can help dispose of litter. I even put extra signs up to deter people!

  • This is right at the foot of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. There are small steps and a few very small rock climbs to get to the top. However you can also see the top from an easy accessible platform. Great way to spend a couple of hours. There are a couple of stalls and shops you can also get refreshments. It shouldn’t cost anymore then around £5 each way from the centre.

  • Huay Kaew is a nice waterfall at the base of Doi Suthep. It's an excellent option for a sunny hot day where you can just go and relax or try some hiking trails that take you to beautiful viewpoints. Trails are beginner friendly and offer some good views and there's plenty to explore. I would recomend hike all the way up to the Cliff and on the way back stop in one of the ponds to relax and bath. The MOST DISAPPOINTING thing in here is the amount of trash the thai people dispose in the trails. It's packed with plastic, broken glass and other stuff.. I hope one day the authorities will do something about it
