Wat Inthakhin is a tiny Buddhist temple located in the heart of the city. It is also known as Wat Sadue Mueang which means ‘temple of the city navel’. The name refers to the site where the temple is built as when it was first erected 700 years ago, it was located in the main part of the city. It is also home to Inthakhin - known as Indra’s Pillar. It is believed that this pillar was first erected in the 1290s and was moved to the premises of the temple after 1800s.
