Chiba Castle is a reconstructed castle located in Chiba city. It is also known as Inohana Castle. The original castle was built in the year 1126 by Tsuneshige Chiba. However, the royal family of Chiba couldn’t survive during the Sengoku period and they had to abandon the castle and escape. After that, the castle was left unattended and over a period of time, only rubbles were left. The present castle was re-built in 1967 and was converted into a museum. The ruins of the old castle can still be found around the castle grounds.
