Built by the Elks Community, this Memorial is to honour the bravery, loyalty and dedication of the thousands of Elks who have fought and died for the country during World War I. This dome shaped building has been lavishly constructed using fine marble imported from Greece, Austria, France, Belgium and Italy, as well as, high quality limestone from Indiana. The rotunda has murals and statues that depict the Elks' four cardinal virtues, that is, charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity; while the friezes display the "Triumphs of War" on one side and "Triumphs of Peace" on the other.

Elks Veterans Memorial Reviews & Ratings
Such a hidden gem -- right in front of you! Tours are free (donations recommended) and it'll probably only take you half an hour. Sounds weird, but make sure to look at the washrooms-- a blast from the past!
Hidden gem in the city. It is a MUST if you are visiting Chicago. Comparable in art and the magnificence of the building to European castles.
