80 meters above the sea level and 800 meters from sea, this cave nevertheless takes its name from tidal phenomenons. The stalactite cave has accumulated inside it a small lake, about five meters deep. As the moon waxes and wanes the water levels inside the cave changes. This feature has made the cave a place of extreme important to the Taiwanese native tribes. High on the ceiling of the left cavern mouth are thousands of bats. The caves’ 20 degrees Celsius temperature also makes is a fantastic place to live for many other species. Travelling the inside of the cave can be complicated. You will almost certainly need to avail the services of specialist guides.
