For the tourists who are not aware of the history of Chittorgarh, this fort might come across as just beautifully preserved ruins. However, the ones who are aware would know that this is one of the sites that have defined the Rajputana pride and valour in India. The city as well as the fort are so well woven in the history of Rajasthan that there have been many tales and ballads that testify their glory. Chittorgarh Fort is an expansive fort built on the hilltop and is one of the most beautiful forts in India. Covering an area of 700 acres, this fort is actually a complex that houses many other royal structures and temples inside such as Kumbha Palace, Sringar Chauri, Fateh Prakash Palace, Kirti stambha and many others. Connecting all these points within the fort is the serpentine road which is quite steep and exhaustive to walk. In order to enter this fort, you will have to cross through seven huge gateways or 'pols', guarded by watch tower and massive iron spiked doors.

One of the biggest forts in India. Best part of this place buy one ticket for entry and parking in beginning and it's applicable for all the places you visit in fort. This fort takes almost a day to visit all the places. When we visited main palace was under renovation so couldn't visit. Rest other places were also equally good. View of city from fort is mesmerizing.
I love with this fort. I admire this Nice fort and it holds amazing history. Best fort i ever visited nicely built. It is a city in itself huge fort having many palaces on it. It is built on hill top. Amazing views of full Chittorgarh city. Should visit this fort and require full day to explore every palace in it. Beautiful for photography as well. Should visit on cloudy day or in winters. Amazing thinking that time to preserve water, they do the rain water harvesting that time. They built many water pounds that are still having water. Compare the work they did that time with limited resources to the govt now do with so much machines and resources. This fort had more than 80 water bodies out of which 22 are still there.
A very magnificent fort situated at the top of the hill. There are plenty of places to visit as it is the largest fort in whole of Asia. It will take at least 3 to 4 hours to take the whole tour. It has an interesting history and story. Truly it's a good place to visit for spending some time and enjoying with your family and friends. So visit this fort and be fascinated.
Great place to visit for people from other places of the world. Over crowded place , you need to be enthusiastic to know more about this place. Do no visit on weekends. If travelling by own car hire a local guide who will charge you 150 max.
Huge fort with lot of attraction. Have a good guide who can explain proper history of it. Need at least 6 hours to go through thoroughly.
