Nestled between the Chongqing People’s Assembly Hall and the Three Gorges Museum is this ever busy area known as the Chongqing People’s Square. Built in 1997, the square is sprawled across an area of 30 thousand square metres paved with granite and forms a prime location in downtown Chongqing.

The square especially comes alive in the evening when the sun goes down and the city lights start twinkling. Simply put, it just looks beautiful and radiant with its lovely musical fountain, lush trees and people coming down to engage in various activities like roller skating, exercising or just get their pets for a walk. The friendly attitude of the Chinese people can be easily observed here who openly interact with tourists and guide them to various locations.

Numerous eating joints and souvenir shops adorn the square. It is the ideal place to observe the architecture of the greatest buildings of Chongqing.
