Atop a mountain in Shapinga are the remains of a heart moving story of China. The Gele Hills are a historic site significant due to its role in the Second World War and rise of communism in China. Gele Hill has seen times of horror when the Sino-American Co-Operation was set up here.

The Gele Hills are covered with gorgeous flora and is one of the most famous mountains of Chongqing. At the Gele Shan you will find –

The contradiction between the horrors and the location of Gele Shan is huge. In the gorgeous realms of these mountains are the Zha Zi Dong and Baigong Guan which were formerly prisons and torture chambers for war captives. Many brave men lost their lives here that are now commemorated in the Mausoleum. A lovely museum educates and informs visitors about the political history and significance of the Gele Hill in it all.
