Also known as the Jiefangbei Shangye Buxingjie, the Jieangbei Square is the Central Business District of Chongqing surrounding the prominent and proud People’s Liberation Monument. The construction of the square was completed in 1997.

The Jiefangbei Square holds thousands of businesses including shops, bars, boutiques, theatres, clubs and restaurants. It is much like New York’s Times Square, with giant shopping malls mounted with LED screens and pedestrian walks along the area. The Square is also the location for various hotels and trade centres. Along with local Chinese brands, the square also houses famous international labels such as Gucci, Rolex, Cartier etc.

The Jiefangbei Square has the following attractions –

• The Changjiang Ropeway
• The Chaotianmen Square
• The Jiefangbei Monument
• The People’s Park
• The HongYaDong shopping complex

Also situated in the square are important towers such as the Chongqing World Trade Centre. The Jiefangbei Square is a must visit for a great shopping experience. The bright lights and people in the square make it look like a dream.

• The shops maybe a little expensive and no bargaining is allowed.

• CRT line 1. De-board at any of these stations - Jiaochangkou Station, Xiaoshizi Station, Chaotianmen Station.
• CRT line 2. De-board at any of these stations - Linjiangmen Station, Jiaochangkou Station.
