  • Good field for rugby. Other posts and fields for football /soccer aussie rules and a golf course in the distance. Very scenic with out look to the city, the hills, mountains and the Avon River. Toilet facilities in the middle were clean cold concrete. Lots of car parking. Paths accessible for walking, cycling scooters and running.

  • It was either 2nd or 3rd day of winter 2019. Couldn't decide between Quake City or Art Gallery then I came across the Botanical Garden entrance near the memorial following the attack at the mosque. Weather was pretty reasonable and the gardens are free. Not much at bloom but the conservatory was nice visit for Succulents & houseplants. The fern house was also nice. Venture out a bit more and there was a water garden, the river Avon and the flowers of NZ; I ventured and almost missed the Silver Fern. Beautiful trip especially since I missed the gardens in Melbourne and London's Botanical Garden is not quite in town unlike Christchurch's. Would love to come again when it's in its full bloom & splendor.

  • Beautiful gardens..even in the winter it is lovely.

  • Awesome place to visit on a sunny day! With the golf course and Victoria Lake nearby there is always a great place to eat lunch or enjoy the day. Trees are planted on the edges of the whole park and in the summer the cicadas get loud around that area. The botanical gardens and car park are also situated very close to the Victoria Lake which is my personal favorite place to sit around. Overall Hagley Park is a great place to visit and I highly recommend to anybody having a look around Christchurch in general.

  • Spring flowers are out, about 90% , another week or two will be in full bloom. A good time to visit, the air is nice and cool.
