Sushidai, Chuo Reviews
Pretty much THE most popular sushi restaurant in Tsukiji Market. The queue for this place starts at 5am yes 5AM in the morning!!! Arrived at 630 and queues for 3 hours, hands down the longest wait in line in my entire life. Was it worth it? It’s still personally debating with myself. The quality of the seafood was absolutely superb, the rice was well cooked but slightly better than average for Japan standards. But for ¥4000 12/13 pieces of sushi is very good value. The only negative is the 3 hour missed opportunities to see more of Tokyo is something I can get over. But this is unfortunately no fault of the restaurant. Service is very friendly, the chefs can speak multiple languages. And the atmosphere is bustling. Good luck with the queue and enjoy the sushi!!
Looking for one of the best sushi in Tsukiji Market? You can find here, however, I will advise you to come early since it starts at 5 am and the queues have already started much earlier. If you are willing to wait for at least 4hours or more? It is a good place to go since in my case, Saturday arrives at 6 AM start eating a 1 PM... There are about 15 seats and to go in almost as a batch. Omakase set about 4000¥.
Chefs are nice and friendly. Sushi are extremely fresh and tasty but not worth if you need to wait in line for more than 2 hours. There are a lot of good seafood and sushi places surround the area. Should spend time on there instead.
We waited for nearly 6 hours in winter. The staff were so nice and their sushi was the best. I recommend but probably waiting time is always so long.
Line up early and bring a stool! Amazing sushi and really worth the experience. The restaurant has only 12 seats and it's much easier to be seated earlier if you're alone or in a couple. The seatings are timed for about 30-35minutes, and the first seating is at 5am. We started lining up at 4.15am and managed to get in at 5am because there was a large group ahead of us in line that wouldn't have fit. I would usually suggest going even earlier if you're in a bigger group or want to be in one of the earlier seatings since the line got extremely long extremely fast as soon as we got there (despite the extreme rain and wind!) Sushi Dai basically has only two options on the "menu", either normal or "cooked" sushi and are willing to cater for allergies/dislikes. Both sets cost 4000 yen for 10 pieces of sushi - Chef's Choice of 9 plus one of your own choosing. I highly recommend the prime tuna and sea urchin.
