A park dedicated to Benedict Fontana who died in the 1499 Battle of Calven, Fontana Park accommodates a memorial in his honor. Located on the Grabenstrasse in Chur, the Fontana Park was originally built in late 1720 but it got its characteristic Baroque design in 1860. Since then the park is re-modeled to give it a more modern appeal, even though its original essence is still seen in its layout and design.
Today the park is one of the most popular parks in Chur and is loved by tourists and locals alike.
Take a stroll here through the well maintained trees and pathways which are a pleasure to walk on or simply find a cozy corner for yourself while you dive into your favorite book.
