This is a residential neighborhood located in the Downtown area of the city. It is covered by the Walnut Hills on the Southern side and by the very beautiful Ede Park on the other three sides. This is the reason why the place is considered to be one of the most peaceful and soothing. The boundaries and barrier of the park make this place escape from the hustle and bustle of the main city.

The place is in very close proximity to many of the attractions of the city. These include the Krohn Conservatory, The Museum of Art, Playhouse in the Park, Rookwood Pottery, Presbyterian Church, Holy Cross Monastery and others. The name of this place was earlier on Mount Ida. Ida was the name of a washerwoman who used to live in a hollow of a tree for many years over year.

In the beginning of the 19th century, this place became a barren land as all the trees were cut for timber to make use in commercial fields. After this Nicholas Longworth took the possession of much of this land and turned it into a lovely place along with the historic vineyard. This man is not only known as the ‘Founder of the Wine Industry’ but also as one of the best reformers of the city. As of now the place has sustained all odds to keep up with its charm and is one of the most popular parts of the city with a number of restaurants and clubs. It keeps attracting visitors from many other cities and countries.
