This park is a part of the Great Parks of Hamilton country that belong to a separate unit altogether from the State. This is managed by a bench of 5 commissioners who serve without taking any remuneration for their work. The purpose of setting up these parks was to enhance conservation of greenery and also to provide an open place with fresh air for outdoor recreation of people.

The park, as the name suggests is not a forest but the name is given so to give it a feel of a remote area in the woods. The park is located away from the main streets of the city to give a fresh and peaceful environment. Here people can escape from their busy lives of everyday and let their hair down.

The well maintained gardens, the rural touch, the beautiful lake surrounded by swans and the colorful exotic flowers make the most interesting combination of beauty and charm. The elegance of the place cannot be expressed by means of mere words.

Winton Woods Park Reviews & Ratings

  • It's a very nice park. Most parks are usually nice though. This is also very scenic and there are different areas of the park for different things to do. They also have a trail, which is great for running.

  • Winton wood is very fun, my family goes there every year near Halloween. They have an ice cream shop, a park, hay rides, and every Saturday of October they have trick or treating around the campsite. In the campsites you can either bring a camper or tent or you can stay in a cabin which can fit at least 6 people, the cabins have water, a bedroom, 2 kids bedrooms upstairs they also have a kitchen, and a bathroom

  • A great and picturesque place for the whole family. On the day we were there, we took out 90 year old mother n law for a boat ride on the beautiful river. The gentleman that ran the boat was very friendly, and enthusiastic about the river, and enhanced our since of adventure. We will return in the near future...

  • Went to this park for a church picnic. Picked one of the covered sheltered areas. Very nice location. Near restroom. Nice area for large group. It was a healthful day 8/10 with nice breeze.

  • Rented a kayak with a friend, and had a great time. Very large lake, not too busy even on a Saturday, and the staff was very friendly. I can't wait to go again.
