There are many churches that grace the landscape of Cinque Terre, however, some stand out. One such church is San Pietro that look beautiful nestled in the upper part of Corniglia. Built in the medieval times of 1334, this church evokes historical value and interest. People who know about the various periods of art and architecture, would be easily able to locate the Baroque style that dominates it. However, other styles such as Gothic can also be observed here. There is a 1351 Carrara white marble rose window, like Manarola Saint Lawrence one, which is the centre of attraction here. Do pay your visit here for a spiritual session.

  • Modest clothing is recommended.

  • Ask the locals for exact timings of the church.

  • Nice little Church. Its a bit of a walk from the town, but the views of the ocean and coastline to the north and south are wonderful! No charge to visit, photography welcome, not wheelchair accessible.

  • You have to visit Portovenere if you are in la spezia. The curch at the end of the coastal strip looks impressive. I love this place. The village nearby is perfect to eat dinner after a hard day of sightseeing and trekking.

  • Excellent church to visit. Able to visit Byron’s cove on way. Good views of the Cinque Terra.
