Footpath Monterosso, Cinque Terre Reviews

  • I believe that you should try this trail if you are in the area. the trail takes one hour and 45 minutes. This trail requires you to have very strong legs and high stamina. I also recommend training your balance. The fee of nine euros, goes to keeping the nature beautiful and the path useable. There are some places on the route that might need a bit of repairing but other than that it is beautiful and fun. I took the trail with three others and we easily drank 7 litres of water, so remember to take more water with you than you actually believe you need.

  • One of the best hikes to do in your life! The hike from Vernazza to Monterossa is my personal favorite as the views are spectacular and it is a fun path to walk as it is twisty and narrow. Excellent views of the cities and the vineyards, it truly is a one of a kind hike. I highly recommend!

  • Stunning views of the sea, as well as both Monterosso and Vernazza. Recommend starting in Vernazza to avoid the 600+ steps that start immediately outside Monterosso. Wear trainers at a minimum, but low hiking shoes with traction are preferred. It’s a moderate hike, and not recommended for anyone who’s out of shape or lacks good balance. It took us 1.5 hours with moderate crowds, but it would take 2.5+ hours (and be unbearably frustrating) during peak hours (12-4pm). Paths our empty first thing in the morning or later in the evening, and you can buy your tickets online in advance. Have fun!!! (...and please click “like” if you found this review helpful)

  • The entrance fee was rather high. I'm not used to paying for a countryside hike but we just wanted to do it. The walk itself was quite nice. It takes some effort in the beginning, when you go up from Monterosso, but our 4-year olds made it without a problem - we just stopped and rested for a while when they were tired ;) The views of the towns and the sea were really nice. The towns, the hike, swimming in the sea and excellent ice-cream made this a day to remember and we made good memories.

  • I m not a regular hiker but was able to do this hike. Take plenty of water and take your time and your camera. It's well worth the effort
