  • A magical experience. There was an accordion player and hundreds of people all walking down the steps in sync. (Video with music attached) Shaded spots available in the corners of each landing. Water fountain at the top (cross the road and continue straight, it’s on your right)

  • Corniglia is the only 5terre town not right on the water. But that gives us the opportunity walk these 381 stairs up to the town - it was not strenuous at all, a pleasant hike with great views of the water, station and vineyards below. Good was to soak in the beauty of the area and get a little workout. If you dont want to do the stairs there's always the shuttle bus (free with cinque terre card)

  • The stairs bring you up from the train station to the level of the town. The steps aren't too high so the climb looks worse than it really is. During the day there is a steady stream of people going up and down but it gets with at night, although it is well let. During the day this who wish can buy a shuttle ticket at the train station to avoid climbing the stairs or you can buy a ticket for 2 euros on the shuttle. We did both and preferred the stairs unless we had luggage.

  • Great experience climbing the stairs!! I think this is the best fitness center in the world as it has the most amazing views and absolutely calm surroundings! If I could, I’d climb those stairs every day!

  • There are 150 odd steps. We did it with heavy backpacks. Not that bad. To do it with big travel cases would be a nightmare though. Corniglia a tiny but beautiful little village. Still very touristy.
