  • Great camping, close to hiking trails, short walk to the lake. The marina is fully stocked with a wide variety of things in case you forget something. Hahn's peak trail head is a 10 to 15 minute drive. 40 minute drive to Steamboat Springs. The electric sites have 15, 30, and 50 amp hookups. Clean restrooms and showers! $1 (in quarters) is good for a 4 minute shower. All of the girls on our trip said it was the longest 4 minutes, so should be plenty of time for most people. Dogs aren't allowed on the roped off section of the beach (even though some had them) but you can literally be on either side of the ropes with your dog. Not a problem. No shade at the beach except for a handful of trees. Large driveways for campers and vehicles. Highly recommend Steamboat Lake State Park!

  • This place is beautiful. We had a great experience. We camped and were really happy with how they set it up. You are far enough a way from each to few like you some privacy. The bathroom was kept clean. The beach area is also really nice - small but just the right size for us. I will definitely be going back.

  • Beautiful park with beautiful views. Willow Creek Trail was a great biking trail. Amenities were great except weren’t able to use most of the showers since quarters were jammed in them. You couldn’t regulate the temperature in one of the showers so the water was scalding. The change machine didn’t work in the women’s shower and it didn’t work in the laundry room either. Otherwise our stay was wonderful!

  • My family and I travel all over Colorado and if is it almost every state park, this is our first time to Steamboat Lake, the facilities are amazing, the area is incredibly beautiful and the lake was a ton of fun! There are several campgrounds, so if being near the beach is important to you make sure you look at the map closely. We had to drive to get to the beach but certainly not a hardship and we love the campground we were in, Sunset Ridge. They were fireworks on the Saturday after Fourth of July that made it extra special. Highly recommended

  • The park is great. The primitive site are probably best for view and privacy but we had been a week without water or electric and needed it to regroup. Campsite 145 was the best in electric section.
