Famously known as “Cleveland’s Outdoor Museum”, this cemetery is nothing short of a beautiful sight of a perfectly manicured lush green garden.
Established in 1869, the Cemetery is a 285 acre of beautiful pathways, outstanding sculptures and neatly arranged gravesites that make for a perfect place for an afternoon stroll, a morning jog or to take a tour to understand the history and pay respects to all those heroes buried here! It is home to some of the famous personalities - John D. Rockefeller, Harvey Pekar, President Garfield, Eliot Ness and his wife, Carl B. Stokes and members of President Lincoln's cabinet among others.
Lake View Cemetery Travel Tips
- Dogs are allowed in the premises provided they should be on leash at all times.
- Biking, rollerblading, skating and motorcycles aren’t allowed in the premises.
- Schedule your visit to the Cemetery by contacting Outreach Department at +1 216-421-2687.
- Walking and Bus tours must be booked at least two weeks prior to your visit.
Entrance Ticket Details For Lake View Cemetery
- Walking and Bus tours doesn’t have any fee, however a donation of $5 per person will be appreciated.
- There is no admission charge, however tours may attract a ticket price.

- Tours are organized between 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM (April 1 to November 19; Monday to Sunday).
- Walking and Bus tours will last 1-1/2 hours.
- Office Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday); Saturday: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and by appointment on Sunday.
- Garfield Monument & Wade Chapel: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (April 1 – November 19).
