This is one of my favorite places in Cleveland! When I lived in the area, I would drive an hour round trip to pick up all sorts of ingredients. Even as a visitor, I loved going back! It was nice to pick up a snack lunch and see the sights.... this is not just because of nostalgia. If you love food, this is a place to get acquainted with!
The West Side Market is heaven on Earth. There is simply no equal to this absolutely amazing space. The smells, the the vibe, the people... Honestly part of the reason we are moving back to Ohio from Nebraska, we live it that much. Shout out to Dionne's meats!
I live in Seattle, and the Pike Place Market is nothing like this. West Side Market is actually functional, varietal, with plenty of local ethnic options, and competitively priced. Plus, the mere history of this place makes it well worth a trip over and over again. I love to grab a coffee and sit up top and watch people bustling around down below for a good hour. I know some would say it's like comparing apples to oranges, but in my opinion, West Side Market is hands-down a hundred times better than the famous one in Seattle.
One of my favorite things about Cleveland! I am new to the area but if I ever leave, this will definitely be on my list of things I will talk about or if I ever come back I must eat my way around the west side market! Grocery shopping here is amazing as well but I always eat my way around when I go haha sometimes I go just to eat all the different foods.
Love this place. It's been s while since I have been here, hut it's one of the only places that had a real authentic feel. Some parts are a bit scruffy but I still like the variety of ethnic and fresh food.
