Located centrally in the city of Coimbatorre is the Sree Ayyappan Temple. This well-known temple is also called the Second Sabari Mala by its devotees. This temple is a part of the Sabarimala Pilgirimage. This temple was established in 1942 when a group of devotees started the Pooja Sang in the form of Bhajans. During the Mandal Pooja, devotees started the “Ayyappan Vilakku Pooja” It was during 1958 that the temple was constructed. The temple conducts many activities like medical camps, meals for the devotees, school, animal centre and nature conservation.
