On the edges of the Manuel de Braga Park, you’ll find an unexpected treat. The water collection plant in which this museum is now housed was built in 1922. Aiming to promote environmental concerns, the museum has a pretty active calendar. Throughout the year it hosts and promotes exhibitions of every kind - painting, music, film, concerts, seminars and workshops - all focused on one way or the other on the environment. The main exhibit focused on the history Coimbra’s water supply and sewage is surprisingly engaging too. Check the museum website calendar for upcoming events. You don’t have to go out of your way to check this attraction out, though. Drop in only if you’re in the neighborhood and have some time to spend.
