Freycinet Marine Farm - Review

If it is seafood that you love, Freycinet Marine Farm in Tasmania would be the ideal place to visit. This is one of the most popular places to taste some of Tasmania's best fresh seafood that can be enjoyed fresh on their deck or taken away. The mussels and oysters are harvested fresh on their farm daily while the scallops, abalone and rocklobster, salmon are sourced from local fisherman. Everything that is available here is absolutely fresh and delectable. The natural oysters, scallops, abalone, mussels, and prawns are quite popular here which you can enjoy with some wine. This place is truly a heaven for seafood lovers.

Freycinet Marine Farm, Coles Bay Reviews

  • It doesn't get any fresher for seafood than here. Scallops were good, oysters ok but the star is the mussels. Delicious and sizeable - not quite as good as NZ green lipped ones but the best I have tried in Australia. We went on a winters day and it was busy but not packed. I imagine in summer it would be crowed. One thing it could better do is provide a few bistro blinds to protect patrons from the bitter winter winds. Otherwise, a lovely lunch.

  • Delicious little seafood shack just outside wineglass bay. Although it may seem touristy, the food they serve is honest and damn delicious. Whether it's a dozen Pacific oysters, abalone sashimi or some delicious mussels, everything here is brilliant. Throw in some tremendous staff and you've got yourself a winner!!!

  • Excellent food albeit slightly pricey. Worth it though as I was served the freshest seafood I’ve ever had. Somewhat crowded with tourists buses during lunch so be there before 11.30 to avoid them.

  • Great place! Very fresh produce and big serving sizes. I had some muscles and they were delicious! Will definately recommend for any mussel / oyster lovers!

  • You can't get fresher seafood! Amazing flavour and fantastic service. You can even try done on the local wines.
