Freycinet Marine Farm - Review

If it is seafood that you love, Freycinet Marine Farm in Tasmania would be the ideal place to visit. This is one of the most popular places to taste some of Tasmania's best fresh seafood that can be enjoyed fresh on their deck or taken away. The mussels and oysters are harvested fresh on their farm daily while the scallops, abalone and rocklobster, salmon are sourced from local fisherman. Everything that is available here is absolutely fresh and delectable. The natural oysters, scallops, abalone, mussels, and prawns are quite popular here which you can enjoy with some wine. This place is truly a heaven for seafood lovers.

Freycinet Marine Farm, Coles Bay Reviews

  • Highly recommend! Oysters are amazing, I would recommend trying the trio plate and then going back for some more natural. Scallops were delicious too and perfectly cooked. The outdoor seating is great, big picnic style tables painted in a happy, bright blue and the ground is covered in shells that crunch underfoot. Really beautiful!

  • Pros - Nice outdoor area to eat Great, fresh oysters. Mussels and salmon were also good Cons - Limited menu Portions a small if you're wanting a full lunch They also run a venue at Devils Corridor which has larger menu and better view. Would recommend trying that place out first.

  • Came here for the Oyster farm tour program. Was not disappointed. Declan was an amazing tour guide, who was patient and easy going, yet detailed when it came to explaining about oysters. The oysters from here were the freshest I've ever had! What an amazing experience! Highly recommend!

  • This place is fantastic! It’s the best in the area! Fresh seafood and friendly staff. The cold oyster plate trio is a must try! The condiments that come with the seafood platter is just what you need to complement the natural seafood flavour. The place is pretty straightforward—it’s just a seafood place and nothing else except for some items that come with bread. If there’s a room for improvement, would have been nice to have hot chips on the menu, too for colder days. Or a seafood chowder.

  • Great pitstop for fresh oysters (cooked and raw), mussels, scallops, sea urchin, prawns and grilled salmon. Everything we ordered was extremely sweet and fresh. I'm not giving this place 5 stars due to the fact they lost our order and we waited 40 minutes before we received our first dish.
