Little Venice, Colmar Reviews
Small but beautiful. A great place to walk around and grab a bite to eat before hitting the food market to pick up some local produce. It is popular with tourists and can get busy but its nice to visit wither day or night. There are boat trips available for those inclined on cool battery powered gondolas.
La Petite Venise- A paradise on its own. Located in small town of Colmar. Rich and diverse atmosphere with enormous amount of colorful flowers and building. Canal surrounding the town gives a elegant outlook to the entire architecture of the place. Colours are used in several buildings also especially green. Famous for white wine Alasace region.
Nice side trip not worth a trip here on it's own but it is a nice four or five hour adventure. Take in a nice meal and stroll through the market and you will have a nice part of the day
A really cute part of Colmar, packed with half-timber houses and a really nice canal. In summer it's full of flowers and one gets great photo opportunities. We had lunch in the market, which was excellent, and had a small boat trip only for 6 euros. A small inconvenience , that it was a little crowded, but I guess one should expect that in August.
It a place to visit if you travel to Alsace in France. Don't hesitate to take a train to Colmar and take a tour to visit la petite Venise. One and the best is to pay a 30min tour on a boat and you have the story of the place. You have good view and can take unforgettable pictures.
