As the name suggests, a former hospital of the Dutch, this colonial era complex is now rejuvenated to become a city centre of Colombo. Centrepiece of the newly vibrant Fort, this construction dates back to the early 1600s. The unyielding architecture astonishes the on-lookers and is an ideal hang out in the evenings.

Lavishly restored, it is home to shops, cafes and restaurants run by some of Colombo’s best operators. Enjoy a pause for a cold drink amid the incredibly thick columns of its arcades.

  • You can take the cool kangaroo radio cab, the ace cab or rent a taxi service. The cheapest and easiest way is to hire the tuk-tuk.

  • Great place to hang out. This place is awesome. A great place to shopping while relaxing. Many great places for food. The crab ministry is one of the most amazing place that should try. The place is very clean and the renovations has done in a without making any harm to the historic value of the place. Ample space to relax. The Odel shop has its unique items specially for the shopping complex. Great place

  • This is one of the iconic places in the city of Colombo. Originally built by the Dutch Monarch as a hospital complex for the wounded soldiers. The complex is build spaciously and with beautiful architectural work. Resently this building complex was restored and converted into a shopping centre and few restaurant and bars are opened up for the travellers and visitors of the Colombo city. If your are looking have a meal you have few restaurants to cater for your satisfaction. If you are looking for a bar, then it is also available. On weekend the place get really crowded but plenty of space available. Occasionally there is a musical band is playing in the bar area. Most of the dining area is located in the outside area. A clothing and souvenir shops are available for shoppers.

  • There's always something to do here and something to try out here as well. Good locations to dine and great spots for nights out. And there's always something new happening. Specially the weekends.
