St Andrews Presbyterian Church - Review
This church may be the only real remaining evidence that once upon a time, Ceylon had a significant Scottish presence. They were tea-planters longing for home, and though they built this church, they are here no longer. Now it is a Protestant place of worship, with a congregation of immigrants, locals and tourists. Stepping in is like stepping into another world. You can forget for a moment that you are in Colombo, when you see the stained glass and white walls and the bare stone, and you hear the singing. The starkness is very engaging somehow. You must catch the choir service. It's magic.

St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Colombo Reviews
The beautiful Gothic architecture of the church, with its wood and stone outer structure, fine arches, crenelated walls, stained glass windows and polished teak pews, has made it a favorite location for weddings not only among-st its congregation but also between people of different Christian denominations, and between Christians and non-Christians. As it is today, St Andrew’s Scots Kirk is a church that truly reflects the diversity and history of Sri Lanka.
It is excelent place to discover stainglass windows. even it is small church has lot of glamour from the stain glass..
Every Tuesday from 11.00 am to 1 pm thèy have a bargain items for sale. Very cheap prices good stuff, books at very low prices as rs.20 sometimes.
One of the best churches I have been to, very peaceful indeed. Please don't forget to go through the comments book that is placed at the rear end and leave a comment if you like. I have been to the church before interviews and the atmosphere and surrounding gave me great courage along with my prayers. Once I have been there for a wedding and for it's rehearsals they do it very elegantly and in a very organized manner.
Ample parking+comforting. gets darker in the evenings in the interior.
