Considering the landscape, this is arather abrpt attraction. You would not expect to find a pretty grotto waterfall at such a random location in a city. When the city realised it's appeal, they built a boardwalk and overlook from where the pretty 35 foot waterfall could be best appreciated, but also so that people stayed off the actual land; the waterfall needed to be preserved. Look around some picnic tables. All things considered, it's a surprisingly wild and untamed looking place. Perfect for selfies.

  • Very short walk. Probably only a 1/4 of a mile but it was pretty and quiet. The falls were dry at this time but the rock walls were neat. Nice little walk.

  • Nice little gem, gets dry if no rain. But still pretty. Its become pretty popular over the years. There are rocks you can sit on if you don’t mind going over the fence.

  • It was a beautiful! Easy walk on a nicely built path. Be prepared for some stairs. Not handicapped accessible! Sadly it was dried up and we didn't get to see the waterfall. It is heavily traveled and we were told by other visitors that it usually is running. Had it been flowing I would have given it more stars.

  • Not much of a waterfall because of dry spell. We plan to come back after the fall rains. 48 big steps to get to lower level and back up. Name on sign is now Griggs Nature Preserve not Hayden Falls.

  • The waterfalls are not always running full strength and the area is not always clear of rubbish. But it is a very nice interurban waterfall and very secluded at that.
