This large community park was founded as one of the hundreds of Victory Gardens all over the country after World War II. As a place of locals to kick back their heels, it is excellent - full of paths for strolling and cycling and jogging that course along the Olentangy River. There is a lake where you can cast out a fishing line. There is a children's playground, a pretty gazebo where people like to watch the sunset. A portion of the park has been renovated to form the Whetstone Prairie reflective of Ohio's natural landscape. There is a community centre in the middle of the park. But the crown jewel of the park has to be its stunning rose garden with 11000 flowers in 350 different varieties. The scent of the roses gives the gardens a wonderfully fragrant air. These flowers bloom at different times throughout the year in the Heritage Rose Garden, the Herb Garden, and the Formal Rose Garden. Check the garden website to know the best seasons to visit. On the whole the beautifully maintained park is a gem of place.

Whetstone Park Reviews & Ratings
I didn't go to the Tennis club, but I did sit at the picnic table beside it to eat lunch. I also visited the Library and Park of Roses. It's a beautiful peaceful and quiet place to read, walk, jog or just enjoy nature. They also have free concerts at the gazebo at certain times of the year.
It's connected to the park of roses which when in bloom smells great before you even get close to them. It's just always a nice experience when visiting the park. Lots to see.
Very nice park with plenty to do. One of the better playgrounds in the city and a variety of walking trails.
Lovely place to walk around and enjoy the view, it's a beautiful experience. If you live in Columbus you have to come here to enjoy this nature walk with lots of flowers. If you are ever nearby, please do yourself a favor and come over here
