Unusual for a winery, this one doesn't grow its own grape vines. Rather, the owners, Valerie and Robin Coolidge, order a variety of grapes from around the state and handcraft from themes various fine wines, all in their basement. Opened in 1977, this is the oldest winery in the state. During the weekend tours, Robin will tell you how the winery came to be and will explain the process of distillation, bottling and packaging. At the tastings, make sure to sample the various eats, especially the 'wine cake'. They keep things lively by filling up the week with various events - check out the event calendar on their website. If you ask in advance, they'll make you a custom bottle complete with custom labelling to take away as a gift!
