With construction dating back to 1215, the Palazzo Broletto Como served as the home to the municipality of Como. Located next to the site of ancient cathedral, it signifies the strong connection between the church authorities and the municipality.
Constructed in Romanesque-Gothic style of architecture, the structure strongly symbolizes the renaissance elements. The marble facade in three different colours- white, gray and red dates back to the 15th century.
Several restorations and renovation have resulted into the change in the appearance. Today, the structure is separated into two unite- Broletto (west side) and Praetorian (east side).
Various conferences and art exhibitions are held here time to time.
