  • Such a wonderful experience and meal. This restaurant is secluded and on the beach. Although a little intimidated by the menu at first, we found that you can do no wrong it what you order (two nights of dinner here). The pasta, seafood, and desserts were simply delicious and perfectly prepared. Marianna took care of us fabulously even though we spoke no Italian and she spoke no English (thank you, Google Translate!). It is a great setting for couples, families, or groups. One of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had.

  • We visited La Tonnarella twice while staying in the area. Once by boat for lunch and once walking down the steps to have dinner. It was amazing. From the casual open air beach front atmosphere to the friendliness of the staff to the quality of the fresh food served. They put together a fresh bruschetta for us to start as we enjoyed some cocktails followed by a zucchini pasta that I'm still dreaming about. Keep in mind this place is casual, so don't expect it to be fancy, but the freshness of the food speaks for itself. At dinner they set the tables up on the beach and we got up half way through to see the squid catch that the fisherman had just brought in that evening on the dock. The restaurant will pick you up by boat from the hotels nearby at no charge, just tip your captain. It's a great place.

  • Let me tell you a story. My wife, my little daughter and I were in Furore a few weeks ago and decided to end our summer holidays visiting the beautiful Conca dei Marini. We were having a terrific time until we decided to have lunch at La Tonnarella, which was just a few meters from the beach. The place looked a bit spartan from the outside and I was a bit skeptical about the authenticity of most of the good reviews on TripAdvisor but we decided to give it a try anyway. Now, I'm from Naples and I'm used to Neapolitan laziness but those waiters? They clearly could not give a damn about anyone around, as if we were doing a favour to them being their customers! It took us more than 5 minutes to get a menu and even more to get a highchair for my daughter as the waiters were too busy smoking and chatting outside the restaurant. How was the food? After had been told that fresh seafood was limited to sardines and octopus, parma ham, mozzarella and tomatoes salad was the only starter available for babies and fruit was basically just watermelon, we ended up eating more bread and drink more water than anything else! The octopus wasn't fresh (again, I'm from Naples and I know what seafood should taste like), the mozzarella was in reality fior di latte (the worst they could find in Agerola), watermelon wasn't the only fruit available (we noticed that other tables received wine bottles with fresh peaches in it) and everything else was as good as it could have been if bought from a supermarket! To make things even worse I found an insect in my starter (sardines and octopus) and when I kindly asked the waiter to replace it he annoyingly came back after a few seconds with a plate which somehow looked exactly like the one I had sent back seconds before. How much did we pay? 42€ for three miserable starters (again, we did not get any drinks, just water)! Now, I won't bother telling you that I'd not even recommend this place to my worst enemy because my story speaks for itself!

  • We had the very best meal in all of the Amalfi Cost at this place. Our guide "Francisco" took us there on an excursion to Amalfi from Positano and it was one of the highlights of the day. Very little english spoken by anyone, the food was the freshest and best we encountered and the price was incredibly cheaper than the cities. A real Italian experience!

  • A well placed restaurant with a great view however I spent the night being very ill after eating here.
