Dolphin’s Nose is a famous tourist spot in Coonoor. It is located about a 1000 feet above sea level. At a distance of 10 kilometers from Coonoor, it is a spectacular spot to visit. The tip of the peak resembles a Dolphin’s Nose, that’s why the name. It is visually an enormous rock formation that is unusual and unique. Dolphin's Nose, Coonoor Reviews
Awesome place to visit. The view from the top is breathe taking. The entry fee is 10 rupees only. You can feel like heaven standing at the top and watching the beauty of nature. Worth visiting the place. Please don't go too early as the fog will cover the place.
The view is nice, especially when there is a play of fog and it is clear enough to see the valley and mountains. Ticket price to enter is reasonable at 10 rupees, but they do have to use that money to clean up the place. I hope that either getting shop-owners or hawkers to physically clean the place will be employed as a viable tactic. Parking can be tricky if you drive a car here. THE PARKING FEE IS A SCAM. As per government and Indian Supreme Court rulings, YOU CAN DEMAND TO SEE THE PARKING TICKET SELLER’S IDENTIFICATION AS WELL AS NOTICE OF APPROVAL TO COLLECT PARKING FEES (plus a tax invoice if you really want to lean into him) IN ORDER TO AVOID THIS SCAM.
A sightseeing point giving beautiful views of the valley. The best surprise were the Catherine falls which i didn't expect to see so full in May. There are plenty of shops selling trinkets like all other sightseeing points and there is a small entry fee. As everyone mentioned there are many monkeys but they are very well behaved. Recommend having the coconut water at the local stall. Its the best I have ever had.
Experience the clouds, feel yourself enjoying in the misty mountains and tea plantations. Beware of the monkeys , they may snatch your foods. There is a view from a cliff of a deep valley below. And telescopic view of a city. Really awesome by nature. Government should maintain this place more neatly. Roads are very narrow, better come in Cars and avoid van or buses.
Experience the clouds, feel yourself enjoying in the misty mountains and tea plantations. A sightseeing point giving beautiful views of the valley. Beware of the monkeys , they may snatch your foods. View is beautiful from here. Parking space is not enough to manage the crowd. If planning to go in season plan for early visit will save lot of time waiting in traffic or for parking. On the way to this place there are lot of spots to get beautiful valley view as well as small waterfalls. In the monsoons, you'll be able to see a decent number of waterfalls, unfortunately we visited in summer. almost always covered in fog which makes it hard to see anything. Nice view point nestled among tea gardens in coonoor...not a whole lot to do.. But enjoy a few views from the mountain top.
