It is an old British constructed check dam. The dam was constructed in 1938 and opened in 1941. It is set up way up in the mountain around 6km uphill from the main road in the forest background it is reservoir which fulfills the water to whole Coonoor. It is a small dam amidst lush green forests. It is the main water source in the town of Coonoor. A short trek through the forest land will take you to this place.
