Best known for Japanese cherry trees, the Bispebjerg Cemetery was established in the early 20th century and is spread across 43 hectares where many graves wait for dear ones to come and meet them. But for the nature lovers, it transforms into a beautiful oasis to come and see the pink cherry blossoms adorn the whole place.

Sit underneath the tress as the blossoms make a canopy over your head surrounded by lush green gardens. The nearby Grundtvig Church is currently used as a centre for dance. The place is also a well maintained horticultural garden and you will see beautifully maintained and pruned shrubs and plants that line intimate walkways.

Do take a walk around the graves where Danish soldiers who lost their lives in the World War II, are buried. A monument here remembers the incident when many resistance fighters died in 1943. Another highlight is the monument designed by Anatolij Dioma – a Russian artist.

  • The cherry blossoms are so beautiful!

  • Virkelig flot

  • Dejligt sted til en gå tur og se års tiderne skifte
