Christians Church - Review
Famous for a lot of reasons (hosting Dalai Lama in 2000 being one of them), Christian’s Church was designed by the famous architect Nicolai Eigtved in Rococo (late Baroque) style. The church was built in 1758 and initially served as a church for the German community of Copenhagen till the 19th century after which it served as a parish in association with the Danish National Church.
Today, along with the history of the church, the place is loved for its beautiful architecture with a simple rectangular layout and a subtle sandstone finish seen on the church tower. The tower itself is 70 meters tall and is a highlight on its own.
The crypt of the church has 46 burial chapels while the interiors itself, quiet unexpectedly, resembles a theatre and is even called so since its has been the venue for many events. The elegant altarpiece takes the centre stage and along with the Ionic plasters that embellish the high-arch windows, the place spins a magic of its own . The organ is placed above the clock face and dates back to in 1976- replacing a former organ that dated back to 1759! Today, the stately beautiful design of the church is what pulls tourists here while the many events held here (including speeches by famous personalities) add to the church’s splendour.

Christians Church, Copenhagen Reviews
The Location is a among the appartemnts (houses) so you will not notice it easily. We saw the tower from the station so we just walked to find the church and I'm happy that I did it. It's busy with renovation. When we were inside there were two men busy repairing things in the church and they let us going around even we got a private guided tour, going upstairs, seeing all the rooms. The interior is unusual. Once a while there is a concert here and that's why a special zitting room for the royal family when they attend the concert. This church has its own beauty. It's worth visiting this church.
Another of Copenhagen's beautiful churches.
This is a church.
