The Gustaf Church was named after King Gustaf V and belongs to the Swedish congregation of Copenhagen. The Church is a Protestant church that was built from 1807 to 1911. The Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style of architecture was visualised by architect Theodor Wahlin and is the church’s highlight that was prominently seen in Germany in the late 19th and early 20th century. The hard-brunt brown brick construction of the church along with the church tower is a sight on its own even froma distance buta walk inside engulfs you with beautiful stained-glass art, brass chandeliers and a minimal yet beautiful main Altar.
The place accommodates church halls, offices, a community centre, staff residences and an archive section.
Other highlights include:
- The Church Organ that has 31 steps
- A Pulpit designed by sculptor Niels Hansen
