Johann Ernst Hartmann is one of the most notable Danish composers of the 18th century. Some of his great works include ‘Symphony No.2 in G major’, ‘Baldur's Death’, ‘Hoytidssange’, ‘Hyrdinden pa Alperne’ and ‘Forloserens dod’ among many others.
The bronze statue portrays the composer sitting on a chair and looking down at a book placed on his lap. The surrounding historic buildings and the gorgeous trees that line the background, add to its charm and make for a beautiful spot to click pictures. The statue of J. E. Hartmann is located on Annae Plads- one of the most beautiful public squares in itself with many places to hang out nearby.
