The Round Tower - Review
This tower is many things: a historical monument, an astronomical observatory, and a really good place from where to view Copenhageen panoramas. It’s construction in the 17th century was pecifically designed around it’s use for astronomy. Some of the prominent features are the seven and a half turn ramp, built so that horses and carriages could conviniently bring goods up to the top. Another ntoable feature is the toilet, which empties into a sealed and unventilated shaft, quite possibly making it one of the world oldest septic tanks. The tower makes for great photo opputuniites. You can see all the way to Sweden from the Observatory. Take the kids.

The Round Tower, Copenhagen Reviews
Nicely restored historical building built as an astronomical observatory in 1642. It costs only 25 dkk to go up and you get a great view of the old town from the top. Brochures with good information are provided in many languages. A must visit if you like old buildings and lookout points. The inside is a continuous sloping ramp with only a few stairs at the end to make it more accessible for everyone.
This tower, located in the shopping area of Copenhagen, offers a splendid 360 ° view of the city. Even if it is not too tall the visit worth the trouble. There are no stairs to climb the tower, well just a narrow ones from the las floor to the top. One of the thinks that make this monument special it is the spiral ramp to go up, by going up you will have a nice view of the buildings through the window.Unfortunately there is not elevator. There is a nice exposition room where you can have a coffee also. On the top there is a lookout where you can feel the fresh air and admire the city. And over the top there is an ancient observatory. In order to get inside you need to pay a small fare.
I've never climbed a ramp before to get up to the top of tower but I did at the Round Tower. Inexpensive entry price and short wait time. Solid views over the city and towards Copenhagen. Would recommend.
Fantastic view over the city of Copenhagen! The admission price to the tower was quite low even though there is no student discount. The climb to the top consists mostly of a long circular ramp and at the very top there is a small spiral staircase. It wasn’t too difficult to climb. Along the way are two museum-type rooms (when I was there, one of them was an art exhibition and the other was information about the tower itself). Also there’s a small hole in the wall close to the top of the tower where you can look down and see all the way down through the tower to the ground, so that’s scary but super cool. Definitely don’t miss that!
In fact - must see and visit place. And you will have wonderful view on the city from the top. The way up is easy, as steps are only at the very end. Also, be attentive to details - and you will find very interesting and funny things on the way. You could also enjoy the view from every windows - it differs in a nice way. At the top, don’t miss the small room with telescope. And there is also kiosk with souvenirs on the top.
