Extending from the western gate (Vesterport), the Vesterbro district is one of the most beautiful residential places located in the outskirts of Copenhagen. The gorgeous buildings that surround the Vesterbro square, the colourful graffiti that juxtaposes against the historic buildings and the innumerable cafes, ice- cream parlours, pubs, bars and restaurants, promise a relaxing time to just take a lazy walk through the area and watch people pass by. This part of the city was separated from the main town of Copenhagen by a demarcation line made of old fortification constructed for defence purposes. However, over time, the fortification were taken down and a seamless merge of the town with Vesterbro gave tourists a fresh new space to explore the nightlife of Copenhagen.
- Vesterbrogade (“Vesterbro Street)
- Vesterbro Square
- Tycho Brahe Planetarium
- Tivoli Gardens
- Det Ny Teater
The place is perfect if you would like to explore the town without loosing out on the non-touristy places in Copenhagen.
