Stunning, lush gardens hug this palace-fortress that was built in 1328. A brilliant example of Moorish architecture , the Alcazar is a quadrangular building with 4 towers, three of which still stand tall. The walls and ceilings are adorned with intricate Stucco designs and the fortress also has the Royal baths that are quite interesting to see because of their elaborate setting and intelligent architecture. Nice place to spend an hour or two in here. Visited in December so the gardens weren't at their best but still nice to have a wander through. Entry price of 4.50 seemed fair. A bit more information about the various sections of the building would have been interesting but the Wikipedia page did the job for US.
The gardens here are absolutely stunning, filled with fountains and beautiful greenery. We went at the end of October and were impressed, so I can only imagine how amazing it is in the springtime! Lots of history here, and many shades spots to sit and contemplate the beauty.
A must-see landmark. The palace is beautiful, the gardens are gorgeous. It's open quite late so great for early evening, when the weather is not so hot. We didn't have to queue. Even if you're not interested in architecture or history, the gardens are worth a visit. The ticket is just 4.5 euros.
Awesome place. A must see in Cordoba. The fort itself is kinda unspectacular. Make sure to climb the stairs for a great view. The gardens are simply amazing. Thy cannot be missed. The irrigation is particularly interesting; here you can see it in use. Such a beautiful place, and very reasonable!
Excellent gardens - cool and relaxing to wander around and escape the heat. The Alcazar itself relatively underwhelming (especially as there's zero signage to tell you what you're looking at / what happened there), but some fun mosaics and a few good photo ops from the walls and tower. Can't argue with that for just €4.50 entry.
