The Puerta de Almodovar is the archway which gives access to the old Jewish town of Cordoba. The archway extends to a wall that was made to protect the old town centre of the city. The wall has a Moorish castle like design and most of what is visible today is part of the original 14th century archway. The gateway is perfect to prepare the visitor for what lies inside; a town stuck in the pages of history. Notice the statues of the famous Cordoban philosopher Seneca and Averroes that lie in the vicinity.
