  • We had to book last minute due to storm Ophelia while on our honeymoon in Ireland. We were intially put in an off site guest house which was freezing and smelled strongly of mold. An inspection of the house revealed mold growing in the bathroom and around the sky light. The staff was very nice and moved us to a room inside. There was still some mold present in the bathroom, but the room was much cleaner and smelled significantly better than the guest house. The bathroom was large and shower pressure was very good. We did have to request toilet paper. In general, the building and room were very old and could use some TLC. The room was adequate for a quick overnight stay and the staff were very nice, but I would not recommend for a long stay.

  • Just returned from overnight stay in Killarney Guest House. Besides our room being very noisy as we were in the front of the house beside the traffic, myself and my wife were charged 28 euro for breakfast. On your website you mention 9 euro per person for breakfast. When we queried this we were told it was because we had a cooked breakfast!!! Will be staying in a hotel in future as the price works out the same.

  • Summary: Probably the best value for money and room you'll get within 30 minutes walk of central Cork My partner and I ended up staying in Crawford House (owned by the same people) which was next door to the Killarney Guest House and by all accounts a nicer building and better room than the one we had originally booked. I have heard of people being downgraded so just be aware that you might not end up where you booked. The room and the bathroom were both very large and comfortable although you could tell it had seen a fair bit of use. It was located on what appeared to be one of the main roads into town and near the uni on what appeared to be a B&B strip, so it could be a little noisy at times. On the same token though it was really easy to get to. It was quite far on foot from the centre of Cork (~30 minute walk) but it was the best price we found within that distance. Breakfast wasn't included in our price but we payed extra for it and it was pretty good. Cork itself is a really interesting big city which although quite sizable still has a small town vibe.

  • Excellent attention. Very good and friendly people. Very near to the centre. Good option

  • Were down in cork for a family bereavement and what a depressing guest house to be staying in. We are dreading going back to sleep in it tonight. The room smelt of urine and we booked a family room but was given a cramped room with 3 beds and a closet toilet . Waste of money wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy
