  • Camped here twice this year. First night was perfect! Stars were out, wind was blowing and made for a cool night. Second time was last weekend, early October. Much cooler at night, but that wasn't the problem. You ever hear a bowling ball drop in to a lake from a b-29 bomber? Thats what the geese sound like hitting the water just feet from the camper! And then they honked all night telling us about the great escape and smooth landing in the water! Honk honk honk! What a night.........in CHase county ks!

  • I had a ball here. Fishing was good. Caught large mouth bass, walleye, small mouth bass and one croppy. Not a lot of people. Camping was pleasant especially cause I stayed on a 65 deg night in July. Boat ramp and dock situated very nice. The road to the lake was a little rough but I wasn't in a hurry and hopefully it keeps some people away. I didnt get a chance to hike to the water fall but I will be back to do that.

  • Hike the hills around the lake. Take your camera for evening photos of the Shadow setting on the hills. Or fish one of the cleanest lakes in Kansas.

  • Busy pretty place, clean prairie runoff and seep springs.go on a weekday new moon for country stars and coyotes songs.

  • I love anything Chase County since that's where I'm from!
