The Potawatomi Woods Forest Preserve is spread across an area of 300 acres and is the second largest preserve in the county. At the preserve, you would be able to find trails, playgrounds, two open shelters and more. There’s even an easy access canoe launch which enters the river at the bridge adjoining the Wildlife area. Row-crop fields and Prairie plantings skirt the trail within the preserve. You would be able to find a lot of uncommon plant species along with several other amphibians and reptiles. A walk around the Potawatomi Woods Forest Preserve would allow you to observe the various plant species and animals while enjoying the beauty of the area.

Potawatomi Woods Forest Preserve Reviews & Ratings
This was the end of an 11 mill kayak trip. Beautiful park, great parking, and a great take out place from the kishwaukee river!
Very nice place to take a relaxing walk in the woods
Hidden gem of a park tucked away neatly. Lush woods eith extremely clean paths. Whoever runs this park deserves a raise
I love the off-leash dog area.
Beautiful hike. Needs more horse miles added. Harley enough to trailer in. But a very beautiful place for birding and easy strolls into the woods. Notice. Avoid the rednecks on the south side of the river. Scary survivalist types abound
