Crete is an island and hence resplendent in tremendous marine life. The marine life of the sea that surrounds Crete has been collected and preserved for display in the aqua world Aquarium. Ideal for kids as well as elders, this place is where entertainment, learning and conservation come together.
Local Sealife as well as reptilian species can be seen here. In fact, you can even participate in interactive programs where you can get up close and personal with these wonderful creatures. The best part about the place is that all the animals up on display have been rescued from one place or another. These injured or lost sea creatures find a new lease of life in this lovely aquarium that is a must visit especially with children.

Aquaworld Aquarium, Crete Reviews - Write a Review
Aquaworld was amazing! The staff were kind, friendly and extremely funny. They allowed us to take pictures of the animals whilst holding them and had a great array of sea animals and reptiles. Entry for 2 adults was €16, we arrived at opening time (10AM) to see the animals being fed and my girlfriend and I had an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend
It is truly an amazing place to visit even though it is quite small. The guides readily explain everything about all the animals - it is clear they love their pets a lot. The most amazing part is at the end: big and small snakes, turtles, lizards and iguanas - all you can touch, caress and even hold! Our daughter did not want to leave asking for "yet another snake":) We recommend this place to everyone!
Lovely place to visit. Staff friendly and you can pet some of the animals that live there. A lovely giant tortoise roams around the outside bit of the building - beware as he can move with some speed 😊. I would say that you can easily visit the place in around 45 minutes & great to see that this place exists to protect these beautiful and interesting creatures.
Ever wondered what it feels like to have a 10 kilo snake hang around your neck, or what a leguan feels like? This small, but amazing place lets you experience reptiles up close as well as all kinds of sea life in aquariums. Under supervision, a caretaker hands you any of the reptiles, from small exotic lizards to huge snakes, which seem perfectly content with crawling around you, or simply hanging out and enjoying the body warmth. From what I understood, all animals here were saved from their previous unfortunate lives and I had the impression, that the owners (british origin?) truly love the the animals. I'm not an expert in holding reptiles, and while they seem to all get their out-of-cage time, I felt that their terrariums could stand some quality improvements. Since I'm sure, that the owners spend all earnings towards the animals, I can only recommend you to spend the 8€ entry fee and enjoy this unique experience.
Had great fun here especially the reptile part definitely worth a visit. don't go to reptile bit if u don't like snakes as there a massive one there in the open. Also8 euros was good price aswell
