Aquaworld Aquarium - Review
Crete is an island and hence resplendent in tremendous marine life. The marine life of the sea that surrounds Crete has been collected and preserved for display in the aqua world Aquarium. Ideal for kids as well as elders, this place is where entertainment, learning and conservation come together.
Local Sealife as well as reptilian species can be seen here. In fact, you can even participate in interactive programs where you can get up close and personal with these wonderful creatures. The best part about the place is that all the animals up on display have been rescued from one place or another. These injured or lost sea creatures find a new lease of life in this lovely aquarium that is a must visit especially with children.

Aquaworld Aquarium, Crete Reviews
A wonderful, gem of a place! We visited Aquaworld at the beginning of our holiday, and loved it so much we came back before we went home. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the animals in their care. We held every snake and lizard in the garden, watched the blind turtle being hand fed, and learned lots. I'm happy to say the octopus we met on our first visit had been released back into the sea before our second visit. At €20 for two adults and a child, it's not the cheapest day out, however I would much rather pay to go to Aquaworld and know that my money has gone towards saving something from a fisherman's net. Highly recommended!
Small establishment, but definitely worth a visit! A surprising amount of interesting sea-life inside, in particular a blind sea turtle, and a garden out the back with a broad variety of reptiles including snakes, lizards, and tortoises. Suggest going first-thing in the morning, and catching feeding time, which is amazing. They are very helpful and friendly, encouraging people to hold big (or little) snakes and lizards.
Really enjoyed our visit today. They do great work here for reptiles and sea life. The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Some reptiles can be seen close up, even touched. Catch them at the right time to see the snakes being fed!
Absolutely a must visit if you are visiting Crete. Such a caring, wonderful staff for the animals, helping you to get comfortable with those exceptional creatures. You can get really intimate and take your time with them. Basically, if you have limited time, you have the choice of visiting plastic dinosaurs or caring people for actual reptiles.
The staff are friendly and full of information about animals in the rescue centre and also knowledgeable on marine life around the island and the rest of the world. We got plenty of great pictures with lizards and snakes alike at the behest of the reptile guys and had a in depth conversation on marine life with one of the owners. This visit was a highlight of our holiday, a nice break from the sun, beaches & cocktails to talk about a cause that really matters and totally worth the small donation of admission.
